Craft Festival, Demonstrations, and Antiques
The Wise Business Association will host the 44th Annual Wise County Famous Fall Fling in historic downtown Wise, Virginia, October 8-9, 2022. The Fall Fling features bluegrass, country, and gospel music, and celebrates authentic Appalachian arts and crafts with over 135 vendors. You will find wood, pottery, art, photography, candles, antiques, Native American crafts, traditional Appalachian crafts and much, much, more. During the ‘Fling you can also visit with Mark Ramsay demonstrating blacksmithing, Chuck Miller panning for gold and gems, and James Damron of EK3 Farms showing you the old-timey way he grinds corn.
Saturday: Vendors Open from 9 A.M. – 6 P.M. Music 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
Sunday: Vendors Open from 12:00 PM – 5 P.M. Music 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
MUSIC on Saturday is now extended! The Big Glades will have music from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The after hours music will begin at 7:00 PM
Essay Contest
The Fall Fling Essay contest is on track, with a wonderful theme for 2022. Prizes
will again be awarded in two categories – up to 18 years old, and 19 and older.
Both age groups will be awarded prizes.

Business Decorating Contest
Entries will be judged based on creativity, difficulty, and overall appeal of the design.

The Health Wagon will be set up during the ‘Fling on Spring Avenue. Receive FREE flu shots, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, Covid-19 vaccines, and rapid antigen tests. For more information at 276-439-1352.
Wise Fire Department Firefighter Obstacle Course for Kids
This event will take place in the Kids Korner beginning at noon. Children will be grouped by age into two categories: 5-10 and 11-15. Timed competitions will begin at 4:00 PM. Course requires crawling through a pipe, climbing over an age-appropriate wall, and dragging a hose to spray the target. Children must be dressed appropriately and closed-toed shoes are a must (no flip-flops permitted). Parents must sign a consent form before their child can enter the competition.
Kids Korner
Free fire truck rides will take place on Saturday, and it’s all-aboard the Kiddie Train on Sunday. Throughout the weekend kids can enjoy lots of free prizes, free books, basketball games, and the double slide! At Kids Korner there will be:
